This is a full-time, 195 day school-year position at the Maine Educational Center for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing/Governor Baxter School for the Deaf located on Mackworth Island in Falmouth, Maine.
The person in this position will be responsible for:
Providing consultation, technical assistance, and workshops for teachers, caregivers, professionals and parents
Case coordinator for birth-5 families in southern Maine
Providing home visits and facilitation of discussions related to hearing loss, communication and language development, communication options, and child development
Collaboration with CDS and other service agencies and providers
Participation in ECT and PET meetings
Providing on-site observation and consultation at daycare/nursery/preschool placements
Minimum Qualifications: |
Eligibility for Maine Teacher of the Deaf certification; Educational background and experiences in early childhood and parent education; Prior experience teaching children who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing; Possession of excellent
interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with parents and professionals; Ability to communicate in American Sign Language. |
Salary: |
$30,800 - $50,100 annually dependent on qualifications and experience |
